Mint-tin robot workshop

Use a mint or Altoids-style tin as the basis for a wheeled robot. This planned workshop examines how cable organizer clips can hold N20 motors, how to arrange the electronics inside the tin, and how to program and test movement.

Generated XIAO ESP32-S3 component illustration with four N20 motors, white cable clips, a flat LiPo battery, an antenna, and colourful jumper wires.
Generated illustration of selected proposed electronics. Final kit contents TBD. Project photography will replace this image.

LEARNING TOPICS

Planned activities

  1. 01Mount N20 geared motors using cable organizer clips.
  2. 02Connect the controller, motor driver, and drive motors.
  3. 03Program movement and test the rover’s motor mounts and steering.

HARDWARE

Proposed components

Proposed electronics: XIAO ESP32-S3, dual motor driver, four N20 geared motors, white adhesive cable organizer clips, flat LiPo battery, Dupont jumper wires, and JST power connectors. The completed design will use a mint tin and wheels. Final kit contents TBD.
